I have the USA version of the Crate V16 Palamino and I followed some suggestions from the designer, Obeid Khan. Here's what I did: 1) I replaced the 12AX7 V1 preamp tube with a JJ 5751. You can also try other low gain preamp tubes ( 12AT7, 12AU7 ), but the 5751 works fine for me.
